Chat attachments

Context

While using the chat functionality, sometimes an option to share more than a text is necessary.

Problem

  1.  Sharing a lengthy, detailed or visual information over chat messages or video can take up too much time and possibly create confusion.
  2. Finding the fastest way for both the agent and the customer to send over documents or files during the session.

Solution

It is automatically OFF for everyone, however you can decide to switch it “ON” or “OFF” from the Backstage-> Service configuration-> Client-> Account-> Whisbi Agent:

Supported file types are: jpg, jpeg, png, pdf, doc, xls, xlsx, ppt, video files (MP4, MOV, WMV, FLV, AVI)
There is an antivirus implemented over everything, so that only secure files can make their way.

We implemented the option to send attachments via Agent UI as a Desktop only functionality! While in the active chat session with the customer, the agent will now see the Attachment icon in his text input field:

After the session ends, the download url is still available until it expires. The uploaded file will remain in Whisbi Cloud storage unless a rule was set to delete it at the end of each day.
